Lumenist is operated by Berabit LLC and is designed so your photo library can be organized without becoming our data.
Photos stay on your device
Photo analysis, similar-photo grouping, comparison, and your review decisions happen on your iPhone. Your photos, albums, favorites, individual photo decisions, and the contents of your photo library are never uploaded to Lumenist or Firebase.
Account information
When you create a Lumenist account, we store an account record in Google Firebase. Depending on how you sign in, this record may include your email address or an Apple private relay email address. We use this information only to authenticate and operate your account.
Usage statistics
We collect a limited set of numeric statistics associated with your account: how many days you have reviewed, how many photos you have deleted, and the total size of your gallery. These statistics do not include your photos or their contents. We use them to maintain your progress and understand how Lumenist is used.
Service provider
We use Google Firebase, including Firestore and Firebase Authentication, to provide account authentication and store account information and usage statistics. Google processes this data on our behalf as a service provider.
Photo-library access
Lumenist requests photo-library permission only to show, compare, organize, favorite, add to albums, and - when you explicitly choose - remove photos through Apple Photos.
You make every decision
Lumenist may provide context such as whether a photo appears blurry or includes a smile. It never automatically marks a photo for deletion and never decides which memory is important.
Retention and account deletion
Your account information and associated usage statistics are retained while your account remains active. You can delete your account from within the Lumenist app. When you confirm account deletion, Lumenist deletes your account record and associated usage statistics from Firebase.
